Toyama: City of Traditional Medicine
The history of medicine manufacturing in Toyama dates back to 1690. The medicine peddlers from Toyama travels all over Japan carrying a medicine box filled with medicines for different purposes and left it with each family. They collect money for the medicines that each family actually used with they visited next time, a system called "Use Now and Pay Later".
